Hometown Hockey will make a stop in Halifax on Oct. 12 and 13.
The two-day hockey festival begins Saturday, Oct. 12 at noon at Bedford's BMO Centre with hosts Ron MacLean and Tara Slone on site. The event will include meet-and-greet opportunities with NHL alumni TJ Galiardi and Pascal Leclaire, live local entertainment, and the live Sportsnet NHL broadcast.
There are several hockey-themed events planned for the weekend including autograph sessions, stick handling and shooting accuracy setups.
Special guests will include Halifax's Jill Saulnier, a member of Canada's silver medal winning team at the 2018 Winter Olympics, and Fiona Smith-Bell, who won world championship gold for Canada in 1997 and 1999.
There will also be a feature on the Jordan Boyd Memorial Tournament & Celebrity Hockey Challenge. The Sportsnet NHL game on Sunday features the Pittsburgh Penguins and Winnipeg Jets (8:30 p.m.).
