Former Screaming Eagle to finish season in Supreme Hockey League

SYDNEY, N.S. — A former Cape Breton Screaming Eagle will continue the 2019-20 season in the Supreme Hockey League in Russia.

Forward Maxim Lazarev recently joined the Neftyanik Almetievsk, this after starting the season with Bars Kazan. Both teams are in Russia's second-highest division.

The 23-year-old Lazarev, who played three seasons with the Screaming Eagles from 2013 to 2016, has appeared in 10 games with his new club and has no points, along with 18 penalty minutes.

In 160 career games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the Russian had 79 goals and 107 assists for 186 points.
