The Halifax Hurricanes have signed veteran combo guard Brent Arrington for the 2019-20 NBL Canada season.

The six-foot-three Baltimore, Md., native averaged 10 points, four rebounds and five assists last season with the Saint John Riptide. He finished fifth in the league in assists.

The Morehead State alum previous played for the G League's Greensboro Swarm and a year in Hungary where he averaged 12 points per game.

"Brent had a very successful first season in our league last year after being selected by the Riptide in the NBL Canada draft. We tried to arrange a deal to move up in the draft to select him or arrange a trade but Saint John wanted him,” Hurricanes head coach Mike Leslie said in a news release.

“With a year's experience playing in our league I feel Brent can now extend his game beyond what he showed last year. He can score many different ways and can generate offense for other players as his total assist numbers indicate."
