The South Shore Lumberjacks hosted a Military Appreciation Hockey Game at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre on Friday, Nov. 9. The Lumberjacks wore their red jerseys to show their support for the troops during their game against the Amherst Ramblers. The Lumberjacks won the game in an exciting overtime period. The Bridgewater Fire Department Band provided music for the event and the Colour Party was part of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24. Taking part in the puck drop was Branch 24 Legion member and veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, Bob Shupe. He was assisted by Master Cpl. Michaelia Elliot of the West N.S. Regiment, and aviator Travis Blackburn from the 14 Construction Engineering Squadron.
