ALDERSVILLE, N.S. — A woman charged in connection with a fatal crash in Lunenburg County earlier this month has also been issued several summary offence tickets.

Alysha Kennedy, 24, of Lunenburg County, has been given tickets for operating an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, passing in the face of oncoming traffic, driving to the left of a solid line and broken line, careless and imprudent driving and illegal transportation of cannabis in a vehicle.

She will appear in court in Bridgewater next year. RCMP say the tickets are in relation to the two-vehicle crash in Aldersville on Nov. 2 that killed a 71-year-old Kentville woman.

Kennedy was arrested the next day and charged with criminal negligence causing death, criminal negligence causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Police said at the time of the crash that a Chrysler sedan was attempting to pass other vehicles on Highway 12 just before 4 p.m. when it collided with an oncoming Volkswagen car just before 4 p.m.

The woman killed was a passenger in the Volkswagen. The female driver of that car was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, while the Chrysler driver was also taken to hospital.

The accused is free on conditions, including that she not occupy the driver's seat of a motor vehicle and not be in the care and control of a motor vehicle. She is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater provincial court Dec. 18
