The Run Nova Scotia season series kicks off Saturday April 27, as participants from all over Nova Scotia, head to the start line at Queens Place Emera Centre for the 6th annual Run Our Shore RNS event hosted by Active Living Options Society. This year will feature a 5km, 10 km and a RNS Performance Series Half all certified Athletics Canada routes.

This event has been a community success since entering the Nova Scotia road race scene in 2014, becoming known for its early spring training opportunities, medium to challenging routes and beautiful local scenery. On Friday, April 26, the youth event will be held on the trails at Pine Grove Park, Milton.

Kit pickups for Saturdays run event and onsite registration are held at Queens Place getting underway at 630 p.m. Friday evening and resuming bright and early Saturday morning!

The half marathon leaves 8:35 a.m. Saturday. Heading into Brooklyn and down the shore as far as Eagle Head it sets the stage for the 10km Run and 5km walk/run, these two events out and back courses. Running emcee Mark Stein will provide the crowd and runners with some great tunes to keep everyone excited and cheering.

Upon the return of all the participants the event moves over to the Best Western Plus Hotel & Conference Centre for the reception. Snacks, stories, awards and prizes. The reception will wrap up at noon and leaving you time to stop and shop on Main Street, enjoy a meal or craft brew before safely returning home.

The board of Active Living Options Society is proud to host Run Our Shore and enjoys encouraging the community to participate in healthy and active lifestyle activity.

Register for Run Our Shore by visiting Race Roster or www.runourshore.com and click on the Register 2019 tab. The 5km, 10km and half events do require a registration fee be paid and in return you will receive a medal and tee (available to first 250). Youth up to the age of 12 (youth event) can also register onsite at Pine Grove on Friday, April 26 — a free youth event!
