A Halifax man is facing more than 100 charges related to 24 thefts from businesses throughout Halifax Regional Municipality in the past three months.
On Nov. 26, the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission at 55 Peakview Way reported a man put a bottle of alcohol in his jacket and left the store without paying for it, Halifax Regional Police said in a news release Tuesday.
At 11 a.m. the next day, officers arrested the suspect at a business in the 200 block of Herring Cove Road. He was held to attend Halifax provincial court on Nov. 28.
Christopher Joseph Young, 28, of Halifax is to appear in court at a later date to face 21 counts of theft under $5,000, 21 counts of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and 67 counts of breach of probation. The charges stem from 24 separate incidents of theft from retailers between September and November.
