Ready to start your Christmas shopping? Shelburne’s 17th annual Historic District Christmas Crawl — set for Saturday, Nov. 24, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — offers an array of unique gift ideas throughout various locations in Shelburne.

This year’s Christmas Crawl coincides with the Shelburne Celebrates Christmas event being held Nov. 23 to 25. The Christmas Crawl, a separate event highlighting the Shelburne Historic District, offers a festive shopping experience at these locations:

  • Charlotte Lane Café and Gift Shop (13 Charlotte Ln.)
  • Shelburne County Museum (20 Dock St.)
  • Ross-Thomson House and Store Museum (9 Charlotte Ln.)
  • Roundbird Pottery (Cox’s Warehouse, 10 Ann St.)
  • Tottie’s Crafts (24 Dock St.)
  • The Beandock Coffee & Collectibles (32 Dock St.)
  • Gosbee’s Sporting Goods (161 Water St.)
  • TLC Pharmasave (157 Water St.)

Shopping for Christmas gifts and decorations, available at every stop along the Christmas Crawl, is only part of the fun. Visitors can also sample tasty treats at each location.

Louise Lindsay, president of the Shelburne Historical Society, says lots of “18th century Christmas-crafty things” will be happening at the Ross-Thomson House and Store Museum.

Members of the Shelburne Re-enactment Association will join staff members to animate the Ross-Thomson House.

Cindy Hagen from Studio 138 will be on hand to demonstrate weaving a Christmas table runner in a traditional overshot pattern from 1785. She will also have her spinning wheel and naturally dyed yarns on display.

Another highlight of the Christmas Crawl is a gift basket filled with goodies donated by each participating business. No purchase is necessary to enter the draw.

Simply pick up a “passport” card and visit each Christmas Crawl location, get the card stamped then drop the completed card into the ballot box. The owner of the winning ballot gets the gift basket, valued at $150.
