It’s almost curtain time for the South Shore Player’s annual spring production for adult audiences.

This year, Here on the Flight Path by Norm Foster is being presented, with six show dates between April 26 and May 5 at the Mahone Bay Center.

“It’s a really funny show. It’s one of my favourite Norm Foster shows,” said director Colleen Hagen in an interview. “It’s just hilarious. Everybody that comes will have a good time.”

Here on the Flight Path is a story about a man who lives in a big city apartment building that spans four years and three different neighbours that he has and the different relationships he has with those neighbours and how that changes his life, said Hagen. “It is definitely an adult comedy.”

Rehearsals began in January with the cast of four: Dion McKay, June Davidson, Grace Bramfitt and Katie McNeill. “Rehearsals are going really well,” said Hagen. “As a director I always say if I cast right that’s 50 percent of the work. I know I cast right in this case. All four cast members are really doing a great job.”

Behind the scenes, a number of people are working on costumes and props and sets and in a variety of ways, said Hagan. “There may only be four people on stage but there’s always 40 behind the stage.”

Hagen said Norm Foster “ is a great Canadian comedic playwright. We did one of his shows a few years ago and the audience just loved it. He writes in a way that people speak in real life, so the characters are really relatable and its just like real life conversations except every second comment is just so fantastically hilarious… he’s just got such wit.”

Here on the Flight Path is being presented on April 26, 27, 28, and May 3, 4, 5 at the Mahone Bay Centre. Show times are 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Tickets are available at Kinburn Pharmasave in Mahone Bay, Kinley’s PharmaChoice in Lunenburg, Bridgewater Pharmasave and online at www.SouthShorePlayers.ca.
