SHELBURNE, N.S. – The Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) is advising the public of the emergency department schedule at Roseway Hospital from the Dec. 30 to Jan. 2 timeframe.

On Sunday, December 30, the emergency department will close at 6:00 p.m. and will reopen Monday, December 31, at 8:00 a.m.

On Monday, December 31, the department will be closed at 4:00 p.m., and will reopen Wednesday, January 2, at 8:00 a.m.

These closures are due to lack of physician availability.

NSHA says anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911, particularly if experiencing unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, abdominal pain, persistent headache or dizziness, or an injury requiring stitches or involving a broken bone.

For general health advice and information call 811, which is a service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced registered nurses.

The Mental Health Crisis Line can also be reached 24/7 by calling 1-888-429-8167.
