Flags at the Region of Queens Municipality’s administration building and Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool have been flying at half mast in respect for the Humboldt tragedy.

Following a collision between the team bus of the Humboldt Broncos, a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League team, and a tractor-trailer April 6, 15 people died, many of them young hockey players.

“Flags will remain at half mast until the final funeral has been held for those who lost their lives in the tragic accident involving the Humboldt Broncos hockey team,” says the Region’s websites.

A condolence book at Queens Place Emera Centre is set up in the lobby and will be available until April 13.

Some Queens County residents placed hockey sticks outside their doors. The gesture in tribute to the team has been happening all over the place, and photos on social media have been trending under the hashtag #PutYourStickOut.
