SHELBURNE, N.S. – The emergency department at the Shelburne Roseway Hospital is facing more closures in the coming days as a result of lack of physician availability.
The Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) says the emergency department at Roseway Hospital schedule during this week includes:
• Tuesday, Aug. 14, closed at 6 p.m. and reopening Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 8 a.m.
• Saturday, Aug. 18, closed at 6 p.m. and reopening Sunday, Aug. 19, at 8 a.m.
• Sunday, Aug. 19, closed at 6 p.m., and reopening Monday, Aug. 20, at 8:00 a.m.
Anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911, particularly if experiencing unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, abdominal pain, persistent headache or dizziness, or an injury requiring stitches or involving a broken bone.
For non-urgent care, people are told to contact their family doctor (providing they have one.)
For general health advice and information call 811, which is a service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced registered nurses.
