Shelburne has joined two other South Shore boomerang bag communities, Lunenburg and Yarmouth, and formed its own boomerang bags group. Boomerang bags are made from recycled fabric and available at local stores. Shoppers can borrow the bags, then return them after their shopping is done. The Shelburne group had its first “sew-cial” on March 30 at McKay Memorial Library, completing 123 bags, with about 135 more cut and ready to sew at their next get-together. The group hopes to have boomerang bags available throughout Shelburne County.
