SHELBURNE & DIGBY, NS - More temporary closures of the emergency departments at Roseway Hospital in Shelburne and the Digby General Hospital are happening due to a lack of physician availability.  

The Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) says the emergency department at Roseway Hospital will be closed from Friday, January 4, at 6:00 a.m. to Saturday, January 5, at 8:00 a.m.

In Digby, the emergency department will be closed Friday, January 4 closed at 6:00 a.m. and and will reopen Friday at 8:00 p.m.

The health authority says anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911, particularly if experiencing unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, abdominal pain, persistent headache or dizziness, or an injury requiring stitches or involving a broken bone.

For general health advice and information call 811, which is a service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced registered nurses.
