BIRCHTOWN, N.S. — A trio of holiday events are planned this festive season at the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre in Birchtown.

A visit from Santa on Dec. 6 will kick things off. This event, which starts at 6:30 p.m., will feature a musical performance by the United Church Hand Bell Choir, as well as treats and activities for children.

On Dec. 14, it’s a free Family Movie Night with a screening of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch (2018), a holiday movie for the whole family. Popcorn will be provided. Start time is 6:30 p.m.

To bookend the holiday celebrations a Candlelight Church Service will be held in the historic St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Dec. 22 starting at 6:30 p.m. People are invited to dress warmly and come out to experience an old fashion Christmas service, which will be followed by a bonfire and marshmallow roast.

“These events are presented in partnership between the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre and the Municipality of the District of Shelburne,” said Braden Chetwynd, programming and outreach coordinator at the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre. “These events are free to the public and everyone is welcome. We hope to see everyone come out for the Holidays at the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre.”
