The public is invited to celebrate an evening of song with a choiar of spirited moms and daughters for their joyful presentation of Belles & Noels: an evening of Christmas choral music with rich harmonies and instrumentation on Friday, Dec. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the candlelit atmosphere of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mahone Bay.
St. John’s Lutheran Mother & Daughter Choir is made up of 37 moms and daughters.
“This concert is a gift to the food bank funded by the generosity and good will of others. How wonderful that so many are willing to donate their time and energy each year,” says Leslee Barry, musical director and coordinator of the project. “We would like to express our appreciation to all who have contributed in any way to this cause including our loyal audiences who have filled St. John's Lutheran Church to capacity each year and given this incentive the fuel it needs to provide valuable support to those in need.”
The concert will feature something for everyone, including great arrangements of traditional carols and familiar Christmas favorites by well known composers such as Dan Forrest, Craig Courtney, John Rutter, Harry Simeone, and Mark Hayes. The audience will be treated to featured performances by St. John’s Lutheran Bell Choir, Holly Lohnes on trumpet, songstress Jennah Barry as well as the appearance of a very special guest! Many of the choral arrangements will be dressed up for the holidays with sparkling instrumentation by a great line-up of instrumentalists including principal accompanist Rebecca Rock (Piano); Kelly Ells (flute); Marlene Blezy (clarinet); Kerri Dorey (clarinet & tenor sax); Michelle Keddy Boyd (Piano, French Horn); Michael Hermiston and Holly Lohnes (trumpet); Emily Riding (trombone); Andrew Son (violin); Lesley Tregunno (violin); Tim Riding (viola); Colin Nealis (string bass); and percussionists Justin Mossman and Hamilton Maguire.
