The Privateers, who scored eight unanswered goals in the third period March 10 for an 8-5 win, and a 1-0 lead in the Fred Fox Division’s Best of Seven final, prevailed March 11 at home.

The Leafs started strong and took a 2-0 lead with 4:40 to play in the first period thanks to goals from Stuart Kennie and Graeme McKinley.

The Privateers tightened the score up as Connor McDougall tallied with only 1:52 remaining in the first for a 2-1 Leafs lead.

The Privateers then managed to score three unanswered goals, including a short-handed marker by Brandon Potttie.

The Leafs gave it everything they had in the third period, even outshooting the Privateers 19-10, but goals  were hard to come by, with Sean Anderson scoring the only other goal for the Leafs.

The final score for Game 2 was 5-3 Liverpool.

Liverpool is just two wins away from clinching a berth in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League Final, while the Leafs require four games.

The teams play Game 3 in Windsor on March 17 and then in Liverpool on March 18.
