Isaac Bridge, from Wesley Demone, scored the first goal of the game within the first two minutes of the second period but then the wheels fell off and the last 35 minutes of play was dominated by the Privateers.
The score was 4-1 after the second, and 7-1 as the final buzzer sounded.
Scoring for the Privateers were Gavyn Connell-Helle, Morgan D'Entremont, Stone Harnish, Connor Nauss, Derek Nelson, Kyle Armsworthy and Nick Picot.
Christopher Clokie and William Earley shared goaltending duties for the Leafs. Clokie stopped 30 of 36 shots, and Earley stopped six of seven.
Cory Peterson got the win in nets for the Privateers, stopping 32 of 33 shots on goal.

The Leafs pulled themselves together for their road trip on Nov. 12 and managed to register a 5-4 shootout victory.
Much like the day before, the teams played a scoreless first period.
Team captain Tyler Young started the scoring off in the second period, from Alexander Shaw and Jonah Allen. But, Liverpool jumped out in front, ending the period 3-1. Goal scorers were Nelson, Nauss and Travis Parks.
The Valley squad didn't want a repeat of Friday afternoon and Shaw and Young both scored to tie the game. Nelson, short-handed, tallied one midway through the third to put Liverpool in front but Young was riled up and scored to tie the game 4-4 with 7:03 remaining.
Overtime settled nothing and a shootout followed, with the Leafs coming out on top.
Clokie stopped 57 of 61 shots on goal, while Carter McMullin stopped 46 of 50 and was tagged with the SO loss.
Upcoming games
On Nov. 18, the Leafs travel to the East Hants Sportsplex to take on their county rivals, the East Hants Penguins, for a 7:30 p.m. start.
On Nov. 20, the Leafs host the Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates at the Hants Exhibition Arena at 4:15 p.m.
On Nov. 25, fans won't want to miss the 7:30 p.m. bout with the Sackville Blazers in Windsor. That game marks the first of three on the weekend. The Leafs will travel to take on the Glace Bay Junior Miners on Nov. 26, and will play the Strait Pirates on Nov. 27.
