On Friday Evening, the Queens County Midget A Cougars played the Halifax Hawks in a bid for the South Conference championship and a chance to play in Provincials. However, they were unsuccessful in their game, losing to Halifax Hawks 2-3. On Saturday afternoon, the Midget A team played South Shore Ice Sharks, defeating them 4-0 and taking the WNMHL Championship. Congratulations to the Midget A team and coaches on a great season.
The Queens County Atom B Cougars also took part in the WNMHL Day of Champions, taking silver in their game on Saturday morning, with a 6-7 loss to the West Hants Warriors. On Sunday afternoon, the Atom B Cougars took on the Sackville Flyers for the Hockey Nova Scotia South Conference Championship, winning 4-3 in overtime. The Atom B Cougars will play against the North Conference Champions, Mabou/Port Hood Islanders, in the Provincial Day of Champions in Bridgewater, at the LCLC on Friday, April 7, as they attempt to win the Provincial Championship title.
