Best Peewee players in province bound for Liverpool

LIVERPOOL, NS - The baseball fields in Liverpool will be busy the weekend of Aug. 25-27.

The Liverpool Baseball Club is set to host the Peewee B 13U Provincials. Eight teams, including Liverpool, are expected to play in the tournament.

Game one will kick off at 3 p.m. Aug. 25.

There will be a 15-game schedule, said John Long, president of the Liverpool Baseball Club. Games 13 and 14 are the semifinals, with the two teams that win the semifinals set to meet for the championship game in the afternoon of Aug. 27.

Long said Liverpool’s Peewee team has been doing well this season.

“They have a winning record,” he said.

In addition to lots of baseball , there will be 50/50 sales and the canteen will be running.

Last year, Liverpool hosted two provincial tournaments.
