The best dory rowers from Nova Scotia and Gloucester, MA., will be going head-to-head on the Lunenburg waterfront for the 66th annual International Dory Races on Aug. 18.

Competition starts at 10 a.m. in five classes. The juniors, mixed, women and masters (over 50) classes will race a half-mile course, with competitors in the men’s open class rowing one mile.

Elimination races to determine the teams from Nova Scotia were held in Lunenburg on Aug. 11. Results were not available by press time.

The International Dory Races are held twice a year, once in the U.S. and once in Canada. At the Gloucester races in June, Lunenburg rowers Kath Moore and Gail Atkinson brought home the gold for Canada in the women’s division.
