Highway 103 reopens after fatal crash Oct. 1 in Hebb’s Cross

HEBB’S CROSS, NS - A Lunenburg County man was the victim of a fatal car crash in Hebb’s Cross, not far from the Queens County line, on Oct. 1.

Highway 103 was closed for 13 hours as police investigated the crash.

Police were called to the fatal crash at the intersection of Conquerall Road and Highway 103 around 8:20 p.m. When police arrived on scene, they located a severely damaged small car and a tractor trailer that had rolled onto its side.

The driver of the car, a 50-year-old man from Chelsea, Lunenburg County, was deceased.

According to an RCMP press release, the driver of the truck was not injured, while the female passenger of the truck was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The initial RCMP investigation has determined that the car was travelling west and crossed the centre line, coming into the path of the eastbound truck.

Highway 103 was closed from the time of the collision until 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 2.
