CALEDONIA - After many years in the making, the North Queens Business Centre & Innovation Hub opened its doors in March 2016. Open every Monday to Wednesday from 1-5 p.m., people can drop in to use the facilities.
According to its website, the hub is a co-working facility in Caledonia, Queens County that provides office and meeting space, equipment and facilities to businesses and organizations. Memberships are available for occasional or long-term us.
Hub manager Chloe Herman says anyone can drop in and work, book the space or the board room, or join as a tenant to use the space on a regular basis. The aim is to provide the opportunity for rural business owners and entrepreneurs to grow and achieve.
Recently, the hub received grants that allowed it to host several events this past summer to connect with the community of entrepreneurs in North Queens.
“The events we have offered thus far,” says Herman “have focused on the broad topic of business. Workshops have discussed starting your own business, poster making, online marketing, marketing 101 and book keeping and everything in between.”
For more information and regular updates, like the North Queens Business Centre and Innovation Hub Facebook page. Herman says it's the best way to stay updated with events.
Herman says that without the help of the Municipalities of the Region of Queens and Annapolis County, the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and the many local groups and individuals, the Hub would not be where it is today.

If you go: The North Queens Hub is located at 9793 Highway 8 in Caledonia.
