The incident was reported to Digby RCMP September 25, and is assumed to have happened the night before.
The 30 flags stolen were part of a safety program initiated by now retired Special Constable Richard Parry to increase safety at three of Digby’s busiest crossings – at Water Street by the post office, the Warwick and Mount Street intersection, and Victoria Street in front of the Dairy Queen.
Constable Colin Helm with the Digby RCMP said the flags, which are bright orange in colour with a white strip from corner to corner, were most likely all taken at once.
“All we’re looking for is to get them back. We want to make sure the safety component that was in place is back,” he said.
