LIVERPOOL - There was not a vacant seat in the Astor Theatre the night the Kiwanis Club of Liverpool presented its 86th annual community Christmas concert.
The concert, which began with music by the Mersey Band as people took their seats, happened at the Astor Theatre Dec. 3.
John Wiles was the master of ceremonies for the evening’s musical entertainment.
After O Canada, the Mersey Band played two more numbers and was followed by the Dr. John C. Wickwire Academy Choir – directed by Alison Williams and accompanied by Georgia Williams.
Mother, son and granddaughter piano trio, Gail Tutty, Greg Tutty and Pyper Wilms took the stage next. After, Jessica Stevens sang a vocal solo. Ava Frail and Billy Kent were the youngest performers and were accompanied by Kim Umphrey.
Rick and Dick Henneberry performed a vocal duet before the intermission.
After the intermission, audience members heard the Mersey Swing Band, directed by Rod MacGillivray
The Queens County Community Choir, directed by Umphrey, performed for its third year, singing, On with the Snow and Have Yourself a Merry Christmas.
Lauren Amirault sang a vocal solo, accompanied by Alison. Lexi Morgan accompanied Angus Stevens, who took the stage second last. The evening wrapped up with a performance by the Queens County Girls Choir, directed by Kristopher Snarby.
