LIVERPOOL - The holiday season in Queens County is set to get underway in the traditional fashion, with the 86th annual Kiwanis Community Christmas Concert on Dec. 3 at the Astor Theatre in Liverpool.
Entertainment is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. with the music by the Mersey Band while the main concert starts at 7 p.m.
This year’s program features the Queens County Community Choir, directed by Kim Umphrey; the Queens County Girls Choir, directed by Kristopher Snarby, the Dr. John C. Wickwire Academy Choir, directed by Alison Williams; and the Mersey Swing Band.
There will be a piano trio performed by Gail Tutty, Greg Tutty and Pyper Wilms, which is new this year.
There will be solos performed by Angus Stevens, Jessica Stevens, Lauren Amirault and a duet performed by Ava Frail and Billie Kent.
Returning by popular demand is the father and son duo of Dick and Rick Henneberry.
Expect the theatre to be well decorated as well. Lois Sparkes will be bringing her handmade decorations for a bit of cheer again this year.
The concert is completely sold out, but attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable item for the local food bank.
The funds generated by the concert go back into the community through Kiwanis Club’s programs and services.
Come out, support and enjoy the wonderful local talent Liverpool has to offer.
