Test your knowledge at trivia night

It’s educational. It’s fun. It’s social.

It’s trivia.

Eric Pottie, librarian at the Thomas H. Raddall Library in Liverpool, is hoping the trivia night scheduled to happen Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m. will bring some people in.

Pottie spoke with his colleagues at Margaret Hennigar Public Library and Lunenburg Library and suggested a trivia night.

“It’s actually going to be the same night at the same time at all of our branches,” Pottie said.

He said he would create the questions, put them in PowerPoint and send them to the two other libraries. Down the road, if trivia becomes popular, Pottie said he would like the event to become a bit of a competition between branches.

He hopes trivia night will take place every couple of months.

Pottie will act as trivia master by hosting the event and reading the questions.

“So people can argue their answers and their points to me,” he said.

Everyone is welcome – including individuals and teams. Four or five people would be the maximum number to form a team.

“I just enjoy going to trivia, and I always wondered what it would be like to do one,” said Pottie.

A trivia night also fits in with one of the library’s biggest focuses – encouraging life-long learning.

“We always want to make sure we’re pushing education and make sure people are discovering and learning and sharing,” said Pottie.

Trivia fits into learning, but it also allows people to get out of the house and have some fun.
